Commissioner issues statement on Hate Crime
I would like to inform all of our communities in Hertfordshire that I have been reassured by the Chief Constable that Hertfordshire Constabulary takes any report of hate crime extremely seriously and works constantly to keep people safe.

There can never be any excuse for hate crimes – whatever the motivation  – and  reports of hate crimes will be investigated and any criminality found will be robustly dealt with.

Hertfordshire is one of the safest counties in the Country and I have ensured that we have maintained our high levels of local policing which puts the Constabulary, working with our local council and other partners, in a good position to investigate and stamp out this repulsive and abusive behaviour. I would encourage anyone who has experienced such crimes to report it at the earliest opportunity.

We have great relationships and goodwill across our diverse communities in Hertfordshire and all of us, along with the Constabulary, can maintain this by condemning, challenging and reporting such deplorable and criminal behaviour.
