Policy Assistant

Permanent Contract
Location: Based at Harpenden, Hertfordshire
Salary: £21,876 – progressing to £25,278 per annum
Benefits: Local Government Pension Scheme / Generous annual leave entitlement

This is an exciting opportunity to work for the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hertfordshire. In this role you will be supporting the work of the policy and partnership, and finance and governance teams in their work to enable delivery of the Police and Crime Commissioner’s functions. This support will be vital to enable delivery against the objectives of the Community Safety and Criminal Justice Plan.

Working in the Policy and Partnerships Team, you will be responsible for supporting, attending and minuting a variety of meetings including the Stop and Search scrutiny panel and the Hertfordshire Emergency Services Collaboration Board. You will be responsible for managing enquiries from partners and the public, and undertaking internet research as appropriate.

You will be expected to act with a high degree of integrity and display motivation, commitment and perseverance in all tasks. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively manage your time in order to meet deadlines.
