PCC’s Volunteering Strategy 2021 - 2026 – have your say

Keeping Hertfordshire safe is something we all have a stake in and to which we can all make a contribution.  Volunteering underpins the central values which lie at the heart of the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Community Safety and Criminal Justice Plan: Everybody’s Business.

These values are at the core of his refreshed Volunteering Strategy (2021- 2026) which showcases the active and committed volunteering community we have across Hertfordshire.

This strategy builds upon the success achieved so far and sets out how we will continue to develop new volunteering opportunities and a stronger public focus – one which keeps the public at the centre of our thoughts, our plans, and our services and speaks to Sir Robert Peel’s seventh policing principle from 1829 that “the police are the public and the public are the police”.

As Hertfordshire Constabulary launches its transformational ‘Prevention First’ programme, the refreshed Volunteering Strategy delivers the opportunity to create different volunteering and scrutiny roles that will enable us to continue working together to cut crime and create fewer victims.

The Commissioner invites you to provide your views on the refreshed Volunteering Strategy and help us continue to keep volunteering at the centre of policing and community safety.
